History. The Unified Abrasives Manufacturers' Association was formed in 1999 from the merging of four predecessor organizations: the Abrasive Grain Association, Coated Abrasives Manufacturers' Institute, Diamond Wheel Manufacturers' Institute and the Grinding Wheel Institute.
